The Salvation Army counselling service

We may all struggle at times with personal issues such as loneliness, depression, grief, anger, stress, parenting and relationship problems. Other traumatic issues include suicide bereavement, surviving sexual abuse and family violence.

The Salvation Army offers a range of supports for these and other problems. This includes some specialised supports for children.

Professional counselling service

Locations include Canberra and Tuggeranong, ACT; Brisbane and Brisbane north, Qld; Sydney, Campbelltown and Penrith, NSW. Contact us or find out more.

Telephone counselling

Salvo Care Line provides 24-hour telephone counselling throughout NSW and Qld, seven days a week. Phone Salvo Care Line on 1300 36 36 22 or find out more.

Children’s services

The Salvation Army provides a wide range of supports for children including quality child care centres, holiday camps, a bereaved by suicide support group in Sydney’s north, a support group for children of people in addiction in the Illawarra, and refuges for women and children escaping domestic violence. Community care ministries

Teams at local Salvation Army churches provide “acts of kindness” to people of all ages in need of care, whether bereaved, lonely, less mobile or in crisis. Contact your local Salvation Army church if you feel you could benefit from the support of Community Care Ministries.

Other pages in the ‘Need Help’ section of this site also provide information about a range of supports for families and individuals - domestic violence, problem gambling, drugs/alcohol, youth issues, financial issues.
