The Salvation Army now offers Foster Care to children and young people in NSW. As a new and emerging service, we are creating a founding team of passionate and capable Carers.
Opportunities now exist for Carers to join the Young Hope team in helping to see children and young people grow to reach their full potential. “We have a rich heritage of providing care and support to those most vulnerable in our society and Young Hope is a beautiful expression of that heartbeat of our organisation.
Young Hope is committed to providing safe and nurturing environments for children and young people in out of home care. Together with Carers, staff, volunteers and community partners, we have the privilege of creating spaces of belonging, acceptance and freedom for children and young people who are desperately in need of nurture, stability and love.
Young Hope is built on a foundational principle of life being richer in community. We recognise that children and young people in out of home care are at risk of entering adulthood socially and emotionally isolated.
Young Hope invites children, young people and their Carers, to community through care and support and opportunities to spend quality time together at events such as celebration days, camps, forums and excursions. Young Hope invests in the needs of the children and young people not only for today, but also for tomorrow.
We are passionate about creating opportunities for relationships to be developed in community so that the child or young person in long term care will have people they can call on when they are expecting their first child, preparing to walk down the aisle or are feeling nervous about their first job interview. Young Hope is committed to the life journey.
