Date: Saturday 1st December, 2018

Time: 3:30-9:30pm. Registration open between 3.30-7pm. Registrations after 7pm will not be accepted. Food will be served until 7pm.  

Location:  Exhibition Bay 19/20, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre


This event is for ages 12-21. No pass-outs will be available for attendees to leave the event and return.

Join the Party

The Youth Block Party will gather Salvos from the age of 12–21 to meet together and celebrate the launch of the national Australia Territory of The Salvation Army.

We’ll commence in the afternoon with carnival rides, sideshow alley, activities, prizes and food trucks. After dinner, we’ll party with the Summer Carnival band and hear the good news about Jesus.

The fun starts from 3:30 pm and finishes at 9:30 pm. Cost is $15, which includes dinner. *Bring extra money for merchandise and if you wish to purchase additional food.

Ticketing Information

  • This event has an age restriction: general attendees must be 12 – 21yrs.
  • All tickets include a meal and beverage. Any dietary requirements are to be included during registration.
  • All attendees must complete a permission and personal information form.
  • Registration open between 3.30-7pm. Registrations after 7pm will not be accepted.

  • Upon entry, ticket holders will be given a wrist band and a food and drink token to be used within the venue. 
  • Dress Code applies: Modest clothing
  • Youth leaders will supervise people under 18yrs old

Information for Youth Group Registration

  • Group tickets available for youth groups.
  • Corps/service representatives to manage any forms/required permissions and retain duty of care of young people throughout the event. Numbers of registered group and dietary requirements need to be specified on group registration.
  • All youth/service leaders must be SP3 trained or equivalent to attend and must produce their Working with Children Check or equivalent upon request at the event.
  • Please note the nominated corps/service may be contacted to obtain further information.
  • Approved leaders attending as part of their youth group over 21yrs permitted.

 

Duty of care guidelines and requirements for youth group leaders

  • The service/corps leaders will retain duty of care responsibilities for youth registered under their registration.
  • The service/corps leaders will have obtained permission to proceed / program risk assessment approval at least 48 hours prior to the event and will ensure all leaders are SP3 trained or equivalent.
  • Group leader must have permission forms, medical and dietary information available for the event organisers to view at the event if necessary and must be presented if requested.
  • Each group leader must provide the names of their young people and leaders to the registration desk before entering the venue.

 

Information for individual registrations - 12–21yrs

  • Individual tickets available for those not connected with a youth group.
  • For Individuals aged 12 – 17yrs, tickets must be purchased by parent/guardian and include contact details.
  • You must be 18 years or older to register yourself online. 
  • Individuals that register must download and complete the permission and personal information form before they will be permitted entry to the event. Event organisers will contact the individuals or their related Salvation Army expression to clarify any details as necessary.
  • Individual Ticket holders under 18 cannot leave the event until a designated person collects them
  • Individuals can register on the day if they or their parent/guardian complete the permission and personal information form and pay the entry fee before entry.

Conditions of Entry / Code of Conduct

  • Stay within the event boundaries
  • Remain onsite for the duration of the event
  • No putting others down; no foul, abusive, racist, sexist language or humour
  • Do not touch property that does not belong to you
  • Do not interfere with equipment or facilities
  • Do not engage in violent or threatening behaviour
  • Do not engage in inappropriate or uninvited physical conduct
  • Do not use social media or electronic devices to bully or harass others, or to post/send inappropriate text messages, comments, information, photos, hashtags, etc.
  • Follow your leaders’ instructions and any instructions from the event staff
  • Wear your wristband for the duration of the event
  • Appropriate modest clothing needs to be worn
  • This is a drug, alcohol and smoke free event. Do not bring any drugs, alcohol or cigarettes – any of these items in your possession will be confiscated and appropriate action will be taken
  • I understand that if I fail to fulfil any of these requirements, I will be asked to leave. Any costs associated with my departure will be my responsibility or that of my parent/caregiver/guardian.
