About their Support
Newington College is an avid supporter of Oasis. Newington asks students to begin their journey of supporting Oasis and raising awareness around issues within the community from year 8.
Newington College offers support to Oasis through several initiatives, as part of a woodwork class Newington Colleges makes stable and durable beds for Oasis’ Crisis Accommodation. As supporters of The Couch Project, Newington not only supports the evening through their rough sleep-out but also set-ups a The Couch Project Day one Saturday in Winter. They strategically place couches around the Football oval and allow parents, students and supporters to sit on the couch for a small fee – all funds raised on this day then a donated back to Oasis.
About Newington College
Newington College is a Boys K-12 Day and Boarding School located in Stanmore, in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West. It is one of the six founding members of the GPS, an alliance of Sydney independent boys’ schools.
We believe that in order to lead successful lives, boys must be motivated to learn and this is fundamental to everything we offer at Newington.
