SCOTS COLLEGE

About their Support

In June 2011, Sydney’s prestigious Scots College launched the “Gift of Education Fund” with the purpose of providing disadvantaged young people with educational opportunities at Oasis.

Scots has been supporting Oasis since 2011 to raise funds for vital programs and services that assist at-risk and homeless young people in Sydney’s inner city. The annual Cranbrook and Scots Rugby and Soccer games are now played for The Oasis Cup.

“As an institution of learning and a community who value education, Scots is committed to partnering with these young people in turning their dreams into reality,” said Dr Ian PM Lambert, Principal of The Scots College.

“As a school and community, we place great emphasis on ‘giving back’. Scots boys are blessed with opportunities and skills that many young people on the street may never experience. They feel a great sense of gratitude for all that they have, and enjoy harnessing their talents to serve others in need.”

Throughout the school year, the Scots community also undertakes additional fundraising activities to benefit Oasis; including hosting The Oasis film night and rallying a Scots team of dedicated College students and parents to run for Oasis at the Blackmore’s Sydney Running Festival, City2Surf and getting students to jump on their couch for The Couch Project.

About Scots College

The Scots College is one of the oldest and most reputable boys’ schools in Australia. Scots is a non-selective Presbyterian GPS boys’ school for day and boarding students. We draw students from across Sydney, New South Wales and many different nations from around the world.

Scots’ Brave Hearts Bold Minds education philosophy recognises the need for a special journey and adventure in the hearts of young boys and men. Our development-stage-relevant models of learning seek to make every day in a Scots boy’s life part of an exciting adventure. Our College vision is singularly focused on the education, nurture and development of fine Scots boys who will generously learn, lead and serve in the community.
