Crisis Accommodation

Crisis Accommodation

Oasis Youth Support Network provides 24-hour emergency accommodation for 13 young people each night aged 16 – 21 years. There is staff on-site at all times who work alongside the young people to build trust, help them to access and attend appropriate services and ensure that they are supported as they work towards sourcing long-term, stable accommodation.

Residents are provided four meals daily with breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked on site. To help staff build rapport in a safe, therapeutic environment, the young people are also encouraged to participate in recreational programs such as sports nights, movie nights and design competitions. We also have a living skills dinner program; teaching young people about nutrition and supporting them while they learn the art of cooking.

Many of the young people who rely on this service have experienced severe, prolonged and repeated trauma, may have mental health issues or battling drug or alcohol abuse. Crisis accommodation is the first step on a long journey to a place where they can feel safe and stable.
