Have you recently arrived in Australia as a refugee?

The Salvation Army is here to help you through what can be a stressful and confusing time, and give you a “Big Hello”.

The Big Hello is a Salvation Army program that provides long-term support to newly arrived refugees through a range of helpful aids like care packs, English classes, workplace courses and the Casserole club.

The Salvation Army runs English Conversation classes at the following locations:

Monday: Australian Afghan Hassanian Youth Association (10am-12pm)

Tuesday: Fairfield Library (6pm-8pm)

Thursday:Bankstown Salvation Army Corps (10am-12pm) and Bankstown Library (6pm-8pm)

Friday: Parents Café at Fairfield High School (12.30pm-2.30pm)

Saturday: Fairfield Library (10am-12pm)

The Casserole Club

If you would like an opportunity to practice your English skills while meeting fellow Australian's over food, the Casserole Club is for you. The Casserole Club brings migrants, refugees and Australians together to share a meal and fellowship on a weekly basis. Please contact for more details.
