Bereavement Support Services
Following a death by suicide, many grief responses are significantly intensified and may be overwhelming. You may benefit from the support of other survivors and trained professionals.
Bereavement Support Groups
The Salvation Army is one of many organisations here to help people survive the tragic loss of a loved one.
Bereavement support groups typically combine peer support from other survivors and facilitation from trained professionals.
The groups offer a safe environment to discuss issues that only relate to persons bereaved by suicide.
The Salvation Army runs 3 support groups in Northern Sydney, Wollongong and Townsville. Many other organisations provide support groups in other locations.
For further information, please contact one of our support groups directly.

Lifekeeper Memory Quilt
The Lifekeeper Memory Quilt was created as a memorial to people who have died by suicide.
The Quilt enables people bereaved by suicide to share their personal stories, tributes and photos.
While the Lifekeeper Memory Quilt provides a medium to express personal grief, it is also a continuing visual reminder to every one of the many who are lost by suicide.
If you are interested in participating in a Lifekeeper Memory Quilt, or if you'd like further information, please visit the Hope For Life website.
