The Christmas Story
For many, Christmas is a special time of hope, joy and connection between family, friends and loved ones. But the very first Christmas is a story of hope and connection between God and humanity.
Life can bring so many trials and tribulations, that hope can sometimes seem distant for many. There is something devastating about being without hope. Hope is what gives us the strength to go on and make it through difficult times. It's hard to articulate exactly, but having hope stirs something deep within us. Without that, we can feel lost, aimless, empty, sad or angry. Our hearts were made to live in joyful hope and connection with others and God, and for our dreams to be realised.
As humans, we can connect to others, to nature, to a cause, to the things we are passionate about, to our spirit, and to God; and through those things, find hope. This can change how we see the world entirely.
Christmas is one of those seasons where we can seem caught in a tug-of-war between feeling the hope and joy of being truly connected and feeling the pain of disconnection and hopelessness.
But what is Christmas really about?
