2004 Boxing Day Tsunami
Since the Boxing Day tsunami hit South Asia in 2004, The Salvation Army has been working diligently to support victims both physically and emotionally.
Many people have received practical assistance in the form of housing, fishing boats and household items as well as counselling and counselling training to meet the emotional needs of victims. Read the following updates to find out more about The Salvation Army’s work in South Asia to date.
