Discipleship

Discipleship is about getting alongside and encouraging spiritual growth.  Exploring Gods call on each person’s life and identifying gifts and developing talents.  Discipleship provides accountability and integrity.  It is all about growing up faithful men and women of God, who in turn grow alongside and feed the spiritually hungry until they are able to do the same.  Discipleship is being Christ like.

The church is God’s idea.  He designed it to be the place where people come to know His Son Jesus and to help them grow in the knowledge of His love.

A ‘disciple’ is a person who follows the teachings of Jesus.  Therefore we look to develop ways in God's church here to do this.  Some of our discipleship ways are:

• meeting in small groups regularly (we call them ‘connect groups’)
• prayer support - formal and informal
• Bible study
• classes about church ministry and The Salvation Army
• and, a special teaching service called ‘The Upper Room’
