The fight against poverty overseas can seem very distant from every day life in Australia. Simple choices can be made which can make a significant change in the life of others. One of the aims of SAID AUE is to demonstrate how your choice can make a world of difference to those in need.
If you are passionate about a specific issue then do not hestitate to ask us how you can be involved. The marginalised and the oppressed need people who will advocate on their behalf and it is our intention to show you how. This may be as simple as giving gifts that keep on giving; choosing to promote fair trade in your community; saying no to the evils of trafficking and standing up to be counted to raise funds or awareness for programmes The Salvation Army implements.
You may be appalled by the chronic lack of water and sanitation facilities in some communities; HIV/AIDS may be where you want to focus your energy; you could be wanting to find out how the Sponsorship Department is improving the lives of children in the care of The Salvation Army.
The resources below give you ideas on how you can get involved. (more resources coming up)
