To mobilise and resource The Salvation Army, both nationally and internationally, in order to achieve justice for the marginalised and disadvantaged. This will be achieved through the sharing of resources to enable development and redress inequality in developing countries. Salvation Army International Development Department will focus on the following four areas:
To work with The Salvation Army in developing countires and become effective partners in mission
To enable The Salvation Army to work in partnership with communities to redress inequality and poverty in their local context.
To resource The Salvation Army in Australia so local Corps/Centres can raise awareness and funds for international work
The focus areas will be achieved by:
a) Consulting and developing effective partnerships with The Salvation Army in developing countries
b) Raising and mobilising resources to alleviate inequality and poverty in the developing world
c) Raising awareness and advocating on behalf of the marginalised
d) Professionally manage Mission Support (Evangelical or Infrastructure) Projects
e) Professionally manage Community Development Projects
