London Screening

15th July 2009

The Salvation Army is going back to where it began to launch a new documentary. On Sunday August 23rd, the Genesis Cinema in Mile End Road, Whitechapel, London, will screen a major new documentary, Our People: The Story of William and Catherine Booth and The Salvation Army.

It was only metres down the same Mile End Road, outside the Blind Beggar hotel, that William Booth joined an open air meeting and preached his first sermon in London’s East End.

The Army’s international Chief of Staff, Commissioner Robbin Dunster, will be present for the launch of the film, along with Colonel Brian Peddle, Chief Secretary for the Army’s United Kingdom and Ireland Territory.
