    	<description><![CDATA[<a href="http://salvos.org.au/ourpeople/news/2010/01/06/southern-spirit-reviews-our-people/"></a>]]>&lt;h1&gt;Southern Spirit Reviews Our People&lt;/h1&gt;&lt;p&gt;The dream of a first-rate video production telling the story of William and  Catherine Booth and the early Salvation Army had rattled around in Major Peter  Farthing's head for several years. One day he sat entranced in the Army's  National Archives in Alexandria, Va., peering at pages of The War Cry from the  1890s, and as he did his dream began to take shape and become a vision that was  within reach.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Image after image leapt off the pages, bringing him face-to-face with the  Army in its youth. And the staff of the archives showed him more: hundreds of  well-preserved photos that brought the story to life.     	<description><![CDATA[<a href="http://salvos.org.au/ourpeople/news/2009/07/15/london-screening/"></a>]]>&lt;h1&gt;London Screening&lt;/h1&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Salvation Army is going back to where it began to launch a new documentary. On Sunday August 23rd, the Genesis Cinema in Mile End Road, Whitechapel, London, will screen a major new documentary, Our People: The Story of William and Catherine Booth and The Salvation Army.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It was only metres down the same Mile End Road, outside the Blind Beggar hotel, that William Booth joined an open air meeting and preached his first sermon in London&amp;#x2019;s East End.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Army&amp;#x2019;s international Chief of Staff, Commissioner Robbin Dunster, will be present for the launch of the film, along with Colonel Brian Peddle, Chief Secretary for the Army&amp;#x2019;s United Kingdom and Ireland Territory.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://salvos.org.au/ourpeople/news/2009/07/15/london-screening/#comment&quot;&gt;Leave a comment&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
