How to Help

Over $53,000 raised at 2010 Blackmores Running Festival

21st September 2010

More than 200 participants turned out for the 2010 Blackmores Running Festival in support of Oasis on Sunday, 19 September 2010, helping to raise more than $53,000 for homeless youth.

Participants ran, jogged and walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge wearing 'I'm running for homeless youth' branded t-shirts courtesy of Virgin Unite, Adidas and Joseph DahDah in Surry Hills.

More than 30 Oasis volunteers braved the early hours of the morning to work on the drink stand on Macquarie Street as part of our official Charity duties! A big thanks to these guys for getting up so early and cheering on our runners as they went by.

Oasis Ambassador, Rachel Friend led the Family Fun Run with her son before joining Captain Paul Moulds at the Oasis marquee in the Recovery Village. Thanks to Coca-cola runners kicked back in the marquee with a cold drink and Potts Point Fruit & Veg helped provided lots of juicy organic oranges to help rehydrate the team.

The Virgin Unite team was the highest fundraising team  - raising more than $12,000. They were very closely followed by the Scots College team that raised $11,000! A big thank you to all the teams from HOST, Newington College, Stella Maris College and Gymea High - we couldn't have done it without you. And a special thank you also to the individuals, family teams and work groups who also contributed to the day's success!

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that was part of this year's event - together we can continue to make a real difference to the lives of homeless and disadvantaged young people in Sydney.
