As part of National Child Protection Week (September 5 - 11) ABC TV's Kids at Risk Program hosted by Geraldine Doogue will screen a new short film by the makers of The Oasis documentary on Thursday, 9 September at 9:30pm.
Called POLLY AND ME, this short film is an intense, confronting story of a mother and child isolated from any support systems. It depicts the life an eight-year-old girl who lives alone with her mother and her only friend - a doll named Polly.
The girl's life is based on the real lives of young people the writer and director, Ian Darling, met during his two years of filming The Oasis documentary
The flm will be followed by a discussion with child abuse prevention experts, practitioners and child abuse survivors - including Captains Paul and Robbin Moulds.
