How to Help

Volunteer

Oasis is committed to ensuring we provide a positive experience for all our dedicated volunteers. Each month we host a volunteer information evening which gives you an opportunity to meet the team, leanr more about Oasis and how you can get invovled. To RSVP to the next information evening contact oasis.volunteers@aue.salvationarmy.org

In order for us to do this we look for passionate, skilled and committed people and match them to specific volunteering opportunities.

Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below:

Candle Bag Packing 2014

Join us as we pack 10,000 candle bags ready for sale at Carols in the Domain 2014.
Carols in the Domain is one of our largest fundrasiers of the year with a potential $150,000 raised for our Crisis Accommodation centre.  This year we will be packing from November 21st through to November 27 at Woolworths HQ in Hoxton Park. For those who joined us last year you will know that numbers for this opportunity are limited so we suggest that youtry to lock in your preferred spots early. This year there are two shifts running each day ‐ a morning shift from 8:30am to 12:30pm, and an afternoon shift from 1pm to 4pm.

This year we are again asking that volunteers are over 16 years of age and that your volunteer group has a minimum of five people.

Please make sure you RSVP to Nicole oasis.volunteers@aue.salvationarmy.org by the 17th October.

*Please not this opportunity is not available over the weekends

Morning Crew
One of the best ways to start your day is with a delicious breakfast. To help provide this for our young people Crown Street Grocer has generously offered to donate the goods for a weekly BBQ breakfast! Oasis is therefore looking for individuals and/or corporate groups to host a BBQ breakfast for our young people each week. Get in touch with us today if you know how to make a mean bacon and egg roll or can flip a pancake like nobody's business.

Crisis Accommodation Dinner Program
Our dinner program is one of our most popular volunteer experiences. Running Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights this opportunity sees you cook a family style meal for our crisis kids.  Make sure you get in quick to secure a spot as this opportunity fills up fast!!

Monday Lunch
The Monday Lunch program is another opportunity to have some time with the young people and share a meal at Oasis. Volunteers prepare a lunch of their choosing for the young people and support our nutritionist in preparing vitamin-rich smoothies. Get in touchwith us today!

Driving 4 Life Program
The Driving 4 Employment, Education and Life program sees volunteers work alongside young people to help the gain the 120 supervised driving hours required to obtain their P plates. In this volunteer/mentor role you will require a full and valid NSW drivers licence and need to attend specific program related training.

Changes to NSW Working With Children’s Check
