Ice Hockey exhibition supporting homeless youth Read more

Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) will be supporting a thrilling ice hockey exhibition on Saturday 8th October at Penrith Ice Place to help raise much needed money for at-risk and homeless young people via The Salvation Army’s Oasis Youth Support Network (Oasis).

The ACPE Ice Hockey Exhibition Game will open up the exciting world of ice hockey to Sydneysiders, whilst aiming to support homeless and disadvantaged young people via Oasis, who will be the worthy beneficiary of this action packed charity event.

Event Coordinator, Liarne Peek, a student at the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), wanted the event to exhibit the adrenaline pumping world of Australian ice hockey to the public while also supporting a cause very close to her heart.

“We are looking forward to a great family night of entertainment with a cross section of exciting ice hockey demonstrations, with the pinnacle being the AIHL game,” says Ms Peek.

The event is also going to certainly bring people together for a very worthy cause. A close friend of mine directly benefited from the life changing services of Oasis and we hope to provide financial assistance to ensure more young people have the opportunity to get back on their feet.”

The exhibition will be offering plenty of activities from a temporary Superglide rink for everyone to test out their puck shooting skills, face painting, jumping castle, delicious food stalls and other exciting ice entertainment will be on offer between games.

The gates will open at The Penrith Ice Palace (from 6pm until 10:30pm, with the first game commencing at 6:30pm.
