Portraits of the Passion (Easter 2012)

Please accept our warmest invitation to Portraits of The Passion presented to you by Churches around Newcastle.

Portraits of the Passion tells the story of the final days and hours of the life of Jesus including The Last Supper, The Garden, The Betrayals, Jesus Before Pilate, The Beating, The Crucifixion, and more. Each scene invites people to experience the deep emotions evoked through this story of Christ’s suffering on our behalf.

In the beautiful Civic Theatre using a combination of words and stillness, illumination and darkness, this unique narrative is a striking reminder of the road Jesus walked. Combined with musical items and incidental music it is a powerful presentation that you will thoroughly enjoy and impact you for years to come.

There will be two performances of Portraits of the Passion being performed in the Civic Theatre on Good Friday.

Time: 5pm (suggested arrival 4.30pm)

Compassion Letter Writing Night

Calling all those with Compassion Sponsor Children......

We will be meeting at the Church House (46 Reseviour Road, Wallsend) @ 6.30pm to write letters of love and encouragement to our sponsor children in Thailand and other countries.

Please bring your most recent sponsorship child letter and make sure you have your sponsorship details.

Things to include in your letter:

Lastest family news
Photos of your family (no expensive holidays photos though)
Small items (eg: BookMarks/Ribbons)
Bible Verses to share

Northlakes will provide postage and a light supper.

Richmond Wandera

Richmond Wandera

"Richmond grew up in extreme poverty in the Naguru slum near Kampala, Uganda but his life changed dramatically when he entered a local Compassion child development centre and gained access to healthcare, education and a knowledge of God. On completing his early education, Richmond was accepted into Compassion's Leadership Development Program and was able to attend university. Richmond has a burning desire to see the spiritual state of his country change, and founded the Pastors Discipleship Network to provide resources, training and mentorship to hundreds of pastors across Africa. Richmond will share will us his story and his passion as a Child Advocate."

Richmond Wandera is a former Leadership Development Student and recipient of the Wes Stafford Scholarship, Richmond is coming to Northlakes Salvos on March 7th.

Richmond was accepted to attend the Moody Graduate School and Theological Seminary in Chicago, where he is completing his master's degree.

A year after he began his studies at Moody, Richmond conceived the idea of free monthly theological training for pastors in Uganda, along with provision of study resources and mentorship programs. This further developed into the idea of mentorship and accountability relationships between pastors in the West and in Africa.

His name is RICHMOND WANDERA, and here is his website:

Held at Macquarie College Oval, 182 Lake Road, Wallsend - gates open at 5pm and Carols commence at 8pm.
