My name is Samuel Murray and I attend Tuggeranong Corps in the ACT and South NSW Division. I’m 17-years-old and am currently completing my last year of High School. I love going to school, the only downside is having to go to classes between my lunch breaks.
One of the main things I love about school is the fact that God has blessed me with the opportunity to minister to my peers. I would have to say, there is no better position to be in than mine right now to minister to teenagers. The vast majority of students at my school know next to nothing about God and frequently have Christian “bashing” sessions in some classes such as Philosophy and Theory of Knowledge.
But while many of them know nothing about the love of Jesus, nor want to know, I have found many opportunities to show Christ in everyday life. I am currently counselling an extremely anti-christian friend through his parent’s divorce. During the course of our talks he has opened up to me and I have shared with him about God to which, before his parents divorce, he would have rebuked to the death, but now he listens and discusses with me.
I also find that the little things count too, like the time I bought a drink for a Gothic friend to which he responded with great thanks. God has used me to show his love to (hopefully) everyone I come into contact with at school.
