God's love for us is soooo great! There is nothing that can compare to it. Even when we fail, he is always there with arms open, welcoming us back.
It is so important for us to be constantly falling in love with him and constantly soaking ourselves in his love. His presence is so wonderful and powerful that when we have full encounters with the Holy Spirit, our bodies cannot stand in his presence! He is too powerful for the flesh! Wow!
So many times I have failed God in so many different areas of my life, and have felt so incredibly weighed down by guilt that I chose to exit his presence! Crazy, right?
Well when I come back to him each time and repent, I see how crazy it was to walk away from his presence like that because his love comes and hits me like a tornado. I stand in awe at his grace and at the fact that his love for us never changes!
Hebrews 13:8 says that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever". His love is never changing!
One thing I love about God is that his love for me is the same as for someone who doesn't even want to know him! He is so incredibly crazy for you! Here is how God presented this to me:
To have a relationship with someone, there has to be mutual feelings from both people and both have to put in effort, love and take interest in the other person. This is what makes it a relationship. You can't have a relationship if one person is entirely infatuated with the other person, but the other doesn't want anything to do with them. That's not a relationship, is it?
I'm sure you all know someone who has "girl stalked" or "guy stalked" someone else, watching their crush's every move, memorising their school timetable so they can "accidentally" meet them after class. In fact, people find it so entertaining that it's a common scenario in a lot of movies (particularly chick flicks)!
God's love is similar to this, but is only different because it's not a freaky crush. Before we chose to love him, he already was completely and totally in love with us. He so badly wants to have a relationship with you and your friends that he is already infatuated by you. It's your choice now, however, if you want to make it a relationship.
Now I hope you are feeling loved, because here comes some more! Get this: going back to Hebrews 13:8, his love for you is the same even when you fail!
Your Heavenly Father knows everything about you. He knew 2000 years ago on the cross that you would fail today, but that is why he died for you. If you are holding onto any guilt for a sin, come to your Father and experience his love.
We often feel as though we aren't worthy to do his will because we have failed him, but the beauty of this is that he takes our failures to glorify him even more! When we fall we can find the grace and love of God through repentance and share this with those who don't know this love and grace. He will use it for good, so don't let it get you down or stray you away.
Check this verse out! "My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9. WOW!
As Christians, we need to be comfortable to share our failures with each other. We cannot judge one another because that's God's job and we would be foolish to take on the role of God.
He shows you grace.
Like the story in Matthew 18 where the Lord forgave the debt of the servant but the servant went and got mad at another man for not paying his debts! This man was not changed by the grace that his master showed him.
We need to be changed by grace to show it to others. If a friend comes to you to tell you he has fallen, help him up, show him grace and love, because haven't you fallen too? God's nature in you will give you the ability to show this. Only God is perfect and he shows us grace in our weaknesses! If he does it, then we do it. It's who he is in us.
Now it's time to take this love and grace and tell your friends! Show them that God is good and tell them what he has done for you and what he is doing for you! Your God is sooo good! He has set you free from condemnation! You are worthy to be in his love and his presence! Embrace him and his love.
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need," Hebrews 4:16.
Get loved and give love!
