I'm 16 and I go to Newcastle Worship and Community Centre.

I'm an officer's kid and my parents are ministers. When I was either eight or nine my family moved to Hurstville. But at the end of that year we had to move Penrith. That was really hard for me and I started asking "Why am I having to go away?" When I look back it now, I was holding onto Mum and Dad rather than my own.

During my six years at Penrith, it was here that I dropped my parents' faith and picked up my own. But, I still was only living for God on Sundays and I put on a face when I went to school. It got to the point where my friends at school rejected me and I realised that I didn't want to go through the pain everyday of trying to fit in.

So I found some new friends at school and now I have a really good life-long friend. And then my parents dropped another bomb on me as my parents told me that we were moving again to Newcastle. It shattered my world. Up until then I has my life sorted out and I just didn't know how it was going to turn out for me in Newcastle.

So I just had to trust God and throughout the whole moving process God showed me he had a plan for me. I started to understand that God had a plan for in Newcastle and not just a plan for my parents.

I've always had my heart set on acting for a long time but this year at Gospel Arts Camp God has started to tell me that acting's not going to be my life forever. I was at this climatic point where I had built up a wall between me and God because I didn't want to give up my dream of acting. But that wall started to break down at camp this year and I started to give everything back to God.

  5. Hi Catlin, I can really see that your faith in God is from your own understanding of God and not just from your parents. I love your passion for telling others about Christ and i hope we can use that and that you will help us youth leaders to inspire the rest of the youth to have a passion about this also.

  6. Caitlin! I LOVE this! ... You are an amazing young woman of God, and i'm so excited to see how God uses you as you continue to trust in him with all that you are. xo
