20th December 2010 by MORE

I'm 14 and from Menai Salvos. I've always been in a Christian family and I was baptised at about 8-10 years of age.

When I was young, I used to think that after I was baptised I'd be perfect and be able to go to heaven. But I wasn't living like a Christian. I used to swear because I wanted to fit in and I also used to bully people.

Towards the end of year six my mum said that we were going to Menai Salvos. She said that there's a good youth group and that's when I met Mark Soper. He helped me change from being the sort of kid I was then to the sort of kid I am now. He introduced me to the youth group and everyone was friendly.

Last year we had out first youth activity and it conflicted with my time with my Dad as my parents are divorced. I had to rearrange the meeting with Dad. Dad likes a couple of weeks notice, and because my mum got the text at late notice, my Dad was not impressed. That afternoon I went to the shops and just sat in the car thinking that God must not like me because I wasn't able to do all this stuff and was being unfairly treated.

This year I started thinking to myself I should be reading my Bible and praying to God way more. It was about a week before Gospel Arts Camp (GAC) 2010 when I thought to myself that I should get myself sorted.

Then, when Dazza gave his testimony it made me wonder whether I was really a Christian or not. He said, "If the world was to end would you know you were definitely going to heaven?" And that made me really wonder. When he asked for those who wanted to renew their faith to put their hand up, something inside me told me I should do it.

After that I've started reading the Bible more often. I've prayed to God more often and have experienced God at work in my life.

I'd like to keep this up. I'd like to share my testimony at church or do something else in my church too.
