grow - jessica clarke

Hey guys! This year so far ... geez, how could I describe it? A rollercoaster ... yes, but I think a huge growing journey that God has taken me on so far ... yeah, I think that fits a lot better, lol.

Being at SFYL (School for Youth Leadership) was the best choice I'd ever made. God called me to be there this year; I followed his call, and have never regretted it since. God truly knows what we need and what's best for us. He knew I needed to give a year totally devoted to him that would give me chances to serve him and to truly grow closer to him.

Also being at SFYL gave me the opportunity to go to the USA and work at a summer camp called Camp Gifford to do my practicum, the opportunity of a lifetime, I thought!! The only thing stopping me from fully saying yes to go there, was the fact that it was going to be summer, and I absolutely hate summer. But God convinced me to go, so I did.

This summer in the US was the best summer I've ever had! God stretched me and taught me so much, he taught me how to be a leader (previously, I had no idea how to be one). This camp did truly amazing things; I've made great friendships by being here also!

I'll never forget this summer or this year. The students at the school have become my sister and brothers. God has worked amazing things in my life this year. I have been truly blessed by God – great things happen when you follow God and his plan for your life.

I can't wait to find out what God has in store for me after SFYL! It's going to be exciting!! Thank you for letting me share some of my story from this year! Cheers!
