Get Off My Back

2nd September 2010 by Keira Plon

Works best for:

Any size group where everyone is involved. Yet this game will work better with a youth group that know each other rather well and can answer questions about each other fairly easily.

Need:

  • Pieces of papaer (Large enough to read easily but small enough to fit on someones back)
  • Safety Pins
  • Thick texta or marker

Preperation:

Write up the names of  the members in your youth group in large letters on the paper.

The game:

Place one name on each persons back. Players go around to one another and ask questions about who they are by asking questions with the answer yes or no. Encourgae players to avoid going up to people and just asking ' Am I you?' until they find out. Ask questions that people at youth would know. Such as "Am I a youth leader?" or " Do I play in the worship band?" You will find that the more creative the questions the more interesting it will be, the more involved people get and the more you learn about the person whos name is on your back.

To be fair and ensure there is one winner with no dispute the first person to go to the leader of the game and guess correctly wins.

Notes

Avoid playing in a group with brand new people, it may cause them to feel left out as they do not know anyone.

Shake things up by giving some people their own names. It will take them a while to realise that they are trying to find more about themselves through others. But don't give everyone their own name or the game will be over very quickly once people catch on.
