save - monica handyside

9th August 2010 by Julia Hosking

Hi, my name is Monica I was brought up in house full of Christians. When I was young, my grandmother would take me to church every Sunday morning and my mother would take me every Sunday afternoon.

As time went by, I wanted to know more on what was the main point of going to church. When I was 13 years old, I went to a camp where all kids from different areas came together and praised God. It was fun because everybody is young, active and fun to be around.

At one of the night services, one of the youth leaders was preaching about being the light of world and it got me thinking to myself that I wanted to be that person with my light switched on and help others switch their lights on for God.

After the message, the leader asked if anyone wanted to give their heart to the Lord. I knew it was my time to take my first leap of faith and give my life to the Lord so that I can help others focus on switching their light on for God.

From that moment on, I felt refreshed and clean. As for today, I am still going strong in my relationship with God and LOVING ITTT because he is the same yesterday today and FOREVER!

We believe in a God of the present, and reckon there is always something that you can share with others about God’s work in your life. Whether you’ve shared a story before or not, don’t be put off submitting three, four or twenty save-grow-serve stories! Don't delay, click here today!
