Design a poster!

29th June 2010 by Julia Hosking

Want to get your creative juices flowing, and have your design promoted Australia-wide? National Youth Week is running a 'design our 2011 poster' competition

National Youth Week (NYW) is the largest celebration of young people (aged 12-25) in Australia.

The aims of NYW are to encourage you young people to: share your ideas, attend live events, voice your concerns, showcase your talents, celebrate the contribution you make to the community, take part in competitions, and have fun!

So to start the ball rolling in the "take part in competitions" category, they have launched their poster competition giving you the opportunity to design the artwork for NYW 2011 (see 2010's winner above right).

To win $2000, all you need to do is design a creative poster that incorporates the words "Own It" – the theme for NYW 2011. The poster should reflect the fun, celebratory nature of the week.

Entries are open to all young people aged 12 to 25 not already working professionally in the design industry.

The winning poster will be used to promote NYW 2011 across Australia (posters, postcards, community service announcements, online), giving your design national attention. The runner up will receive $1000.

Entries close Sunday, 25 July 2010 – so be quick!

Winners will be notified by phone and email, but let us know if you win first or second place so we can celebrate!

For more information, please visit the National Youth Week website.
