Chicken Bowling

25th June 2010 by Claire Hill

Works best for:

This games works best in a large group. Two smaller teams are chosen from that group to compete.

You will need:

  • Tarp - 6m length, at least 1m width
  • 10 bottles of soft drink
  • One frozen chicken
  • 2 towels (one for each team)
  • A 'quick clean up' kit (i.e. stain remover and wet sponge) if you're on carpet

Preperation

  • Lay tarp down to make your bowling 'lane'
  • Set up 10 bottles on the end of the tarp, in a triangle, ten-pin-bowling style formation

Helpers required

  • Helper #1 - to set up 'pins' after each bowl
  • Helper #2 - to keep score

The Game:

Two teams of about 4 players in each are chosen. The tarp is layed out and the bottles of drink are set up on one end of the tarp like bowling pins. The chicken is used as the bowling ball. The aim of the game is to knock over as many bottles of drink with the chicken. For each bottle knocked one point is awarded. Each team member gets two bowls. One team goes first and the score is added. Then the second team follows. The team with the highest score wins.

Notes:

For a messier game slightly unscrew the lids of the bottles, when they are hit soft drink goes flying, but ensure this can be cleaned up.
