What will you Encounter?
Profound poverty and stunning scenery.
Rural and urban situations
The amazing and inspiring people of Zambia, in their communities and home settings
You will experience real Zambian life with an overnight stay in a real Zambian village, see and experience some of the hardships that people in Zambia face, join in African worship and come face to face with some serious issues that people in Zambia deal with everyday including HIV/AIDS, orphan care, dirty water and sanitation and much more.
You will go and help on the mobile health clinics, see what schools and hospitals are like and see what the Salvation Army is doing to help make life better!
You will also experience the beauty of Zambia at the amazing Victoria Falls, and see some of the wildlife too (hopefully!) on the Zambezi river
Who?
Project 1:8 now can take people of all ages from high school student's right through to people in retirement. You can also bring friends along from school, work, church or elsewhere. The programme is very inclusive. All participants are required to sign a code of conduct before travelling with the group. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will act as their legal guardian throughout the journey. Yes, that's right under 18's can join the team!
Why come?
Previous Project 1:8 participants have found going on an overseas mission to be "an enriching and life changing experience" and have come home fired up to get more involved in social justice issues and the solutions to those issues, while learning to pray intelligently for those whom we meet. Others have said their lives have been "transformed" by the experience.
How much?
Approximately $4,000 all inclusive. This price may drop but final price is dependent on flight tickets sales at point of booking. The price does includes a complete package deal covering all of your meals, accommodation, flights, travel insurance, in country travel, Victoria Falls entry fees, river safari and all hosting costs as well as a comprehensive orientation day prior to your journey. It does not include the cost of you getting to the airport, your vaccinations or personal spending money. This price will be confirmed when you are able to confirm your involvement as the price is based on variable costs such as flights at time of writing. We would also add that we are one of, if not the cheapest and best value for money of any organisation offering this type of life-changing opportunity.
