A few weeks ago a young guy from our youth ministry, 16 year old Harry Golden (that's Harry on the right) joined with a couple of his Christian mates to start a youth service in his local high school. It's called FIRE and happens every Monday lunch time. Every week, more people are coming along for music, food, games, prayer and a message. Just last Monday 7 young people accepted Jesus for the first time as their Lord and Saviour!
Amazing stuff.
Young people - you can make a crazy difference, pointing people to Jesus in your schools. I've heard some phenomenal stories over the years.
Have a look at the following list and see if there's one you can commit to doing in your own high school in 2010.
1. Start a youth alpha (intro to Christianity) course
2. Challenge yourself to serve at least one person (i.e. do something to help them) every day
3. If someone asks you about your faith/church/Jesus/why you're different be ready to answer in clear, simple words
4. Identify the loneliest, most bullied kid in your year and go out of your way to show them love
5. Pray regularly for your principal, your teachers and the 3 people you like the least
