When the MORE site was first created I was asked by Jarrod to submit my story of salvation. Since then, God has been doing amazing and wonderful things in my life, so I just wanted to take the time to share with the rest of you how great and wonderful the things he's been doing in my life actually are!
Last year from February to November, I completed my Certificate 4 in Youth Work at The Salvation Army's School for Youth Leadership (SFYL) at Lake Munmorah.
Over the nine month course, I spent 10 weeks in America at a Salvation Army summer camp - Camp Gifford, Spokane. At the camp, the kids came on the Monday morning and left on the Friday morning. During the five days the children were there God moved so powerfully. Thursdays were known as decision day; there was an opportunity for the kids to accept Jesus into their life and their hearts. I had the privilege to see hundreds of kids become saved.
When I was at SFYL we had many guest speakers, including the wonderful members of the MORE team, and some amazing God experiences. The days at the school were packed full with Cert 4 work, discipleship classes and a lot of laughs. :) We also had the opportunities to minister to many people through trips to youth councils and participating in STUMP.
God had planned for me to be at SFYL last year so he could work through my strengths and weaknesses and show me what he wants me to do with my life. He also worked on the people I love most in my life, and gave me the support of the students and staff at SFYL to support me and love me when things were getting hard.
My life has changed so much since my time at SFYL. I am so much closer with God, I understand myself more, and I believe that I have the abilities to do what it is God wants me to do with my life.
I have better relationships with those around me. I can't wait for the rest of my life, I can't wait to see how God is going to use me and I can't wait to see those around me be impacted by what he is doing in my life. When my faith is wavering, I just remember what he did, what he's still doing and what he's going to do in the future.
We believe in a God of the present, and reckon there is always something that you can share with others about God’s work in your life. Whether you’ve shared a story before or not, don’t be put off submitting three, four or twenty save-grow-serve stories! Don't delay, click here today!
