The long wait...

13th April 2010 by Jacob Robinson

Have you ever had to stop, when things were moving, when things were happening.

Have you ever tried to fit in with other people's schedule, and had to cancel or post-pone?

Well today (8:30am) I sit at the airport, having just been told that my plane has been delayed for 2 hours, and now I am waiting...

I was up late last night and was diligent to be at the airport early this morning, only to find a long check-in line. And that was Ok, until half an hour later, at check-in, to be told that the plane had been delayed for an extra 2 hours. But, what about my appointment, I thought, but what about the person at the destination who was so gracious to take time out of their busy day, to travel 30 minutes to pick me up.

Fortunately, my appointment is not till 6:30pm, and now having spoken to the guy picking me up, he continued in grace to say, "that's OK."

What are you trying to do God?

Now as I 'stop', I think of the other side.

What happens if the plane was on time, and the airline had not been so safety conscious and there was a technical problem in the air. What if the guy picking me up was involved in an accident on the way to pick me up at the original pick up time. What if the people coming on the plane at the original time had been protected by God by something much worse. Then again, what if God was protecting Me???

It sort of puts things in perspective. I know that God is watching over me and today, He has me in mind as the plans of the world unfold.

Thanks God that sometimes in the momentum of life, you want me to stop and thankyou, that while the plans I have for my life are not perfect, Yours Are.

Thanks God...
