When I arrived at Gospel Arts Camp in October this year, I wasn't that close to God at all. I've been a Christian for more than two years but due to circumstances, like changing schools, I had drifted away from God and dropped my Christian standards.
At camp, this changed. The worship made me feel comfortable and I could feel God touching me. I haven't felt that close to God in ages. When Mark Soper talked about spiritual laziness, it made me realise that I should be more involved in the church. So many young people just come to church and stand there. They just watch and think that that is their part to play; but God has more that he wants to do through them.
Looking around at camp and seeing all the different talents people have has made me more inspired for when I go home. My advice to other young people out there would be if you ever find church boring to go to, become more involved and find your part. You are the church, so be the change you want to see.
Peace out, Nikky.
