Modern day woman at the well

22nd December 2009 by Claire Hill

If you had the perfect body you'd feel good about yourself.
If you were rich you'd feel satisfied because you'd have everything you need.
If you blitzed all your exams you'd feel whole.
If you became really popular and had the coolest friends and were dating someone amazing the emptiness inside of you would disappear...

Lies!

But the world is selling us them all the time.

In John 4 there's this story of a woman who experienced the same thirst every human being experiences. She tried to quench the thirst with a series of relationships - she'd had five relationships and none of them had worked out. The story tells of how she met Jesus - and Jesus offered her living water - the water of life that is always available.

Jesus says:

"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Only Jesus can offer the water of life. Embrace him! :)

Check out this modern day version of the story from John 4:

Bless you heaps,
