As the famous Catch phrase goes ‘It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'. Many of us would have started to make lists of what we would like for Christmas, if not actually written down at least mentally.
What kind of things are on your list? An Ipod, Iphone or Imac? Maybe even world peace?
For some of us Christmas is all about us. It's all about what we want. For some others Christmas is about other people. It's a time to give and serve others through giving.
So what is it you want for Christmas?

Ok, so maybe we won't be asking for or even getting a Hippopotamus, but I would like to offer two suggestions for you to think about.
Firstly, why not give a gift that keeps giving. The Salvation Army International Development Team has produced a catalogue of things you could purchase for a family in a developing country facing real needs. The team would then send you a card showing the impact that the gift you purchase can make to a family or village.

You could give a gift of a Goat, some rabbits or even a toilet.
And secondly, my prayer is that you would remember that Jesus truly is the reason for the season. And I encourage you to take to heart Paul's words to the Ephesians.
"I pray that out of God's glorious riches he would strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long, and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." -Eph 3:16-19
This Christmas I pray that you will not only remember Jesus as the focus but also ask him to help you experience his love in increasing measures. As far as I'm concerned God's love is the best gift anyone could ever imagine.
