serve- montana

30th November 2009 by Julia Hosking

I serve God by helping at the Kids Club at my church, Chatswood Salvos. Kids Club is when kids from the community and the corps come and play some games, do some craft and learn about God. Kids Club is led by Amanda, Lee, Becki, Cheryl, Robyn, Nicole and me. I've been helping at Kids Club since it first started because I was too old to go myself but wanted to be a part of the experience.

I've kept on going after the first Kids Club because it has a fun atmosphere, and each year more and more kids from the community have come and it seems to have impacted their lives as they keep coming back. For the Sunday school anniversary, the kids do a musical about coming closer to God and seeing the kids get right into the songs and have fun is great.

Some of the kids from Kids Club have been dedicated, even though they're much older. One of the girls from Kids Club has started coming to youth group as she is old enough and they're happy to learn about God, but don't understand how much of an impact the Kids Club has had on them. They invite friends from school who might not be Christians or go to church, but they come and enjoy their time.

It has impacted my life as it has shown me that even the littlest things that you may not even remember could change your life. This program has given the kids the confidence to go out and talk to friends and non-believers, and bring them along to become friends with God and learn what he has done for us and what he still has to do for these little kids.
