serve- samantha searle

My name is Samantha Searle, I'm seventeen years old and am about to go into year 12. Leadership is a big part of my life and I am blessed that I have been given so many opportunities.

It's funny how the things I love came into being in my life. From a primary-school age, I had always been interested in the SRC (Student Representative Council) at my school, although I didn't have the confidence to put my name up for it. When I reached high-school, I still held the same mindset: I couldn't go in that, what if I didn't get in, who would vote for me.

One day the SRC advisor came to our classroom and asked for nominations and I put my name in. My choice was purely based on my friends pressuring me into it. I was voted in from my other classmates. And after many years in the SRC in my school, I was elected School President and next year I will be School Captain.

After getting enrolled as a senior soldier, I was given the opportunity to be the Youth Representative on the Mission and Ministry Council at my corps, which led to my involvement as a Youth Leader for my youth group.

These are just a few major leadership roles in my church and school. I have, and am learning from, both roles, and hope to continue to do this. In my church it is easy for me to share my faith and communicate that through my leadership roles there. But I am also finding that in my school I can show this in a non-verbal way, through the way I act towards others, how I dress and how I speak. Additionally, it helps that the other School President/Captain is a Christian too.

I have found that I have grown through my roles. Not only am I confident, but I am enjoying my life and loving what God is doing.

I am excited to continue in these parts of my life, to see where they take me and how God will use me.

wow! that is amazing Sam, what a story, showing how God can work even when we don't think we can do it. I'm heaps impressed a your willingness to stand up for God even when you were unsure how it was all going to turn out. Congratulations Sam, and i can tell that God has amazing plans for you in the future. Thank you for the wonderful testimony and strength you posess in God.

  2. Exciting stuff!
Keep up the good work, Samantha.

Galatians 6:7-10 "You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone - especially to those in the family of faith."

Congratulations on stepping up, Samantha. Keep serving and sewing seeds.
