Hi! My name is Emily Fielding. I'm 13 years old and go to Lockyer Valley Corps in Queensland.
I first came to church because my mum got some money and wanted to give some back to God. She donated to The Salvation Army church, and from there my mum and I both started becoming friends with the corps officers.
After a while we decided to join the church. I started to become involved in SAGALA (a Salvation Army program for young people - similar to Scouts or Guides) and made more and more friends. Over time I got to know and become friends with a young 16-year old who was just so passionate towards God. Me and my brother started going to youth group too and were so happy. There were so many things for us to do!
Eventually, we even started to go to divisional and regional events like Impact and Fuel and it was so good for us to meet and get to know other young people who are Christians. It's often hard to be a teenage Christian if no one your age is around you. It's been so good to have more and more interaction with other Christian young people.
My faith, and my connection to other Christians, have both definitely helped me grow so much.
