Guitar Hero - The Next Level

18th September 2009 by Shandri Brown

You may have a few young people who are phenomenal at Guitar Hero, but how do their skills measure up when expected to work as a team?

Works best:

With a small group, up to about 16 people.

What you will need:

Guitar Hero Game, Console, 2 guitars, a projector.

The game:

Divide your group into 2 teams. You should have the guitar hero game presented on the big screen, running through a projector. Have each team line up or huddle together.

Basically one person from each team starts the game and every 30 seconds they need to quickly take off their guitar mid-song and hand it to the next person on their team who continues to play. If you choose a long enough song you should get your whole team through, each having a turn. The aim is to win the highest score as a team.

Notes:

There is always someone who is pretty good at the game who does not want to let go and hand it on to someone else so make sure you monitor this closely and remove points from their final score for each time-wasting second that they linger in the game.

Why not give the winning team guitar picks as a prize!

** This same concept works well with SingStar or Playstation racing games.
