From a shy girl to a proud woman of God, my life has been a big journey.

At times it's been hard, other times it's been exciting. In high school there was no way I would stand in front of people and talk, except when I had to. I was shy, had low self esteem, and didn't even like who I was. Fast forward a moment to now, where I love to preach in church.

All my life I knew God but it wasn't until I was 16 that I really knew what it meant to have a relationship with God. In the same year God revealed to me that he was calling me to Officership (to be a minister). But I wasn't ready to say yes. I thought I wasn't smart enough or good enough for that. I hoped that he wouldn't say it again.

In the following year, 2002, I was required to have major surgery. This was when I really learnt what having faith in God really meant. I recovered a lot quicker than expected. Three months later God revealed to me again his call on my life as a Salvation Army Officer. This time, I said yes.

God used the next four years to teach me to trust him with my life, and that his timing is always right. This was a hard time, as I was just waiting upon God to act in my life. In 2007 I attended the School For Youth Leadership (SFYL), and what a journey I was taken on with God. I spent nine months learning about self discovery, and learning about God, receiving a new confirmation about his call on my life. I started to feel accepted by others and by God.

Returning to Coffs Harbour after SFYL was another journey of trust, as I tried to understand what God wanted for my life at this point. Not long after coming home I met an amazing man of God, Andrew, who I am marrying. Since meeting Andrew, God has taken us on a journey of trusting him with our lives. As I am called to Officership we are continuing to trust God to reveal to Andrew his call for his life. Andrew and I are enjoying every challenge that God sets before us.
