Think smaller...

23rd December 2008

These are my beautiful cell group girls. From the left you have Stacey, Davina, Keira and then me. This is a picture of us at Lone Star a few weeks ago. We got two meals between us and I had a big bottle of Pepsi Max in my bag so we had free refills! Oh and then I had a 25% coupon. Lol. We really like to save money.

Today was our last cell together with our group as is.

In the new year our youth ministry is launching a whole bunch of new cell groups... it's going to be incredible! We're going to go from like 3 groups to 8. I can't wait. The groups will welcome in teenagers who've joined the church in the last year or so and others who have just recognised a need in their life for more community discipleship.

My girls and I have had some amazing times together. As well as budget outings, sleepovers, beach trips and bushwalking adventures we've met regularly to explore the Bible, share with one another, pray together and grow. God has worked so strongly within us and has used our friendships powerfully.

Are you in a cell group or a small group? If not - let me seriously encourage you to join one - or start one! In fact - let my girls encourage you:

"It's so good to get other people's opinions and hear their experiences. It helps you grow and make good decisions. Through cell I've made amazing friendships too. Join one!" - Stacey

"Woohoo! Cells rock!" - Keira

"Cell is all about growing - growing as people - yeah but also seeing growth in the kingdom - seeing people saved and seeing the church grow and stuff. I love it. I love knowing that I'm apart of a group of other Christians who love me and are there for me." - Davina

I'm pretty sad that this chapter in Auburn youth cell history is ending but my sadness is definitely out-weighed by the excitement about the GROWTH (thanks Davina) that God is going to bring about in the new year.

Til next time,

Claire Hill
