What is Edify?
Edify is an initiative of The Salvation Army's Streetlevel Mission in Surry Hills, Sydney. Our mission is to train, equip and empower all people (but especially the next generation) to engage in a lifestyle of mission for the long haul.
At Edify we give young people the opportunity to step out of their often comfortable world and come alongside the bruised and the broken in our nation. You'll live and work alongside The Salvo's in the inner city and be trained to love and serve the poor. Where else would you want to be?

How do I get involved?
At Edify there are three different ways to get involved:
1) Certificate IV in Youth Work: A national qualification offering a holistic approach to youth work from a Christian world view. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to be trained to work with at-risk young people with both professionalism and compassion.
2) Internship: Receive skills and experience that are nationally recognised as you live and work alongside the Salvos for 10 months in the urban cauldron of Sydney, Australia.
3) STUMP (Short Term Urban Mission Project): Want to be challenged and changed? STUMP is an amazing opportunity for you to live, train and work with the Salvos for a week and encounter poverty in your city first-hand. Currently running in both Sydney and Brisbane!

Who can be involved?
To participate in Edify's Internship program you must be over the age of 18, and to do STUMP you must be over the age of 16. Do you have to be a senior soldier? No! But be aware that Edify is not a place for soft, comfortable Christianity. It's about getting out on the fringes of society, and getting your hands dirty with some of the most vulnerable and hurting people in the city.
