Youth Outreach Camps exist for young people aged 12-14 years. They are a free weekend of fun, relaxation, positive life teaching and Gospel exploration for young people who have had a difficult start to life.
Leaders bring three young people from their community to the camps and commit to being their mentor throughout the camp weekend and beyond. They commit to sowing time, energy and prayer into the support and development of their three campers.
One camp for guys (MAX) and one camp for girls (ANYA) is run every year in each division; check with your division for exact dates.
Leaders need to apply, and be approved by their corps officer, DYS and the camp director. They must be over the age of 18 and have experience working with young people.
All leaders need to commit to finding their three girls or guys for the camp, arranging their transport, building a relationship with them throughout the camp and following them up afterwards. It's a huge privilege, but a big commitment and shouldn't be taken lightly.
