It is important to hold the two in tension isn't it :) The Case for Christ raises some very serious doubts over the 'science' of evolution and argues quite winsomely for I.D. It is sad that secularists can not realize that their own biased agenda is what is pushing evolution being taught throughout Australian HighSchools. This is rather then factual, evidential based debate. So much so that when the national School curriculum survey closed last month, they protested that Darwinism was going to be studied by History students under a section entitled "historical controversies". It seems that they think Darwin's theory is infallible!

The arguments for I.D. are many and convincing and it is important that young people are given all the facts; and are allowed to make an intelligent and informed decision for themselves. It is sad that this is not the case in what is supposedly a democratic society. Christian parents, and church leaders therefore have a responsibility to talk through this issue as people mature and form their own world view. This article contributes towards such. Thanks Phil.

Thanks for your questions. The I'll Fight Conference is for anyone who wants to know more and be further involved in social justice.

It is a 2 day event, but tickets are available for 1 or 2 days and it covers a range of issues including refugees and asylum seekers, creating a justice culture in the church, advocacy, human trafficking, ecojustice plus much more.

It is forum where you can learn, ask questions and further investigate what area's may interest you or that you want to learn more about.

You can register online and choose the days/times you want to attend.

We are also launching a few resources to assist people in going further on the journey after the conference. These resources include books, a music album and CD rom educational resource.

I hope this information helps.

I'm not sure if you were able to make it last night but it was a great night where young Salvos from all around Sydney got together to have a church service. There was some singing, some preaching, some prayer, and some general crazy shenanigans. God moves powerfully when people come together with the same heart...and it was amazing last night! There's one more Regional Youth Rally coming up this year, it's on Nov 21 at Menai Salvos...hope you're able to make it!

]]>It was a great night... a while ago now but still fun none the less. We had teenagers from Valla, Macksville, Armidale, Maclean and Port Macquarie there; good food, a laugh at the cereal box game and then some great worship led by the NRC music team...

Our next Regional Youth rally won't be until 2011, but keep watching the MORE+ web site or you can check out the North NSW web site too for more local events in 2010...

That's awesome that you have been baptised - i love that!
I reckon it's more important to Love God & Love Others - build one another up and speak out words of life than be caught up in rights and wrongs of practices with in the church.
If Baptism is what you do.. fantastic! if going dry (salvo style) is what you do - fantastic! either way it's about relationship with Jesus :)

]]>Why has The Salvation Army dropped the age from 30 to 25 - Kingdom Come is now up to 26 whereas the last Youth Congress in New Zealand was up to the age 30, and I have noticed that Youth Councils now seems to be 25, whereas it was always 30. There are still young people in rural areas between the ages of 25 and 30, who although not leaders, are actively involved with younger people.

Well written article with some golden advice. It is a massive privilige to be able to vote, and we can't take it for granted. It's so important to be well informed. Some politicians count on the fact that people don't do their research, and so want to "appear good", to win votes, without any real substance behind them.
