OTHER WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS
- Hold a Garage Sale.
- Get Healthy. Give up something you love for 4 months (chocolate, fried food, social networking, video games) and get your friends and family to sponsor you
- Finals fury. Set up a big screen at your corps and host a grand final night for your favourite final (AFL, NRL, tennis, Eurovision). Charge for admission and let everyone know that they’ll be helping young people get to KINGDOM COME!
- Fun Run/Walk-a-thon . Maybe ask your corps officer if it can be a whole-church thing. Have people run/walk to raise money and ask sponsors to pledge a certain dollar amount for each kilometre completed
- Baby Photo Guessing. Can be run over a few weeks. Ask church leaders to bring in a picture of them as a baby and put them up on your church noticeboard. Charge for people to guess who the pictures are. Winner is the one who gets the most right. Award a (donated) prize at the end of the few weeks
- Guessing Competition. Fill a large jar with good quality jelly beans and charge people to guess how many in the jar. Winner receives the jar of jelly beans.
- Trivia Night. Have an entry fee and award a (donated) prize for winners. You might also like to allow people to buy clues for some questions to raise extra cash
- Wii Tournament. Charge friends and family to take on each other at a Wii sports game (for example, tennis or bowling). Award a (donated) prize for the winner
- Car Washing. Church car parks make great venues for this activity. Charge people to clean/vacuum their cars. Be sure to bring lots of buckets, sponges and hoses and a change of clothes!
- Karaoke night (Singstar). Charge a small participation fee and award a small (donated) prize to the most entertaining act
- Bake stall. Get together and start baking! Have the bake stall available after your church service for a few weeks
- Talent Night. You might like to involve your whole church – or even advertise it around your community! Charge admission for audience members, and then a slightly more substantial fee for entrants. Award the first, second and third place winners with a donated prize
