You can donate to the Red Shield Appeal online, or in person. You can also sign up to fundraise on our behalf, or volunteer to help us raise funds. In 2022, almost 15,000 dedicated volunteers helped us raise valuable funds for much-needed programs and services that vulnerable Aussies seek every day.
Red Shield Appeal funds help The Salvation Army deliver vital community programs and social services, such as:
- Emergency financial assistance
- Refuge for women and children in crisis
- Shelters for those facing homelessness
- Crisis, short and long-term housing
- Youth drop-in centres and support programs
- Emergency and disaster relief (immediate support, all the way to long-term recovery)
- Drug and alcohol addiction recovery and rehabilitation support
- Employment training programs
- Rural and outback chaplains, and prison chaplains
All funds raised through the Red Shield Appeal help vulnerable Aussies facing crisis, hardship or isolation. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, over the last year, The Salvation Army:
- Helped three people every minute
- Assisted over 9950 women and children experiencing family and domestic violence
- Provided 760,060 crisis beds to people experiencing homelessness last year
- Supported over 11,374 people recovering from alcohol and other drugs, or gambling addiction
- Helped 12,700 people manage their finances better through financial counselling
- Assisted over 86,420 young people through youth programs
- Helped over 50,700 job seekers find meaningful employment
- Supported over 16,790 families impacted by disaster (bushfires, floods, drought and cyclones)
