Acknowledgements

We are grateful to the NSW Government for the funds received for our Special Search Service and Website

The Family & Friends of Missing Person’s Unit (FFMPU), a service of the NSW Attorney General’s Department has kindly provided the funds used to develop this website.

The NSW Community Services has provided the funds for our NSW Special Search Service since 1999.

We are grateful to the Australian public who generously donate to The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.  Our Family Tracing Service is one of the many Salvation Army services that benefit from these donations.

Names

The Salvation Army may use some different names for our search services. In the world wide Salvation Army, the Family Tracing Services could be listed as a Missing Person’s Service or Bureau, an Investigation Bureau or Family Tracing Service.

In Australia we use the name Family Tracing Service.  Some of the Family Tracing offices will also conduct adoption searches and have a Post Adoption Service.  In NSW, this is called the Special Search Service.
