Management & Support

Interns will have access to various people who will manage and support them throughout their time in the Edify Internship - Pastoral support and the provision of people with whom the student can reflect and discuss any issues/concerns that arise are key to the success of the course.

Edify Program Coordinator
Interns will work alongside the Edify Program Coordinator on almost a daily basis; they will get to know them very well! Part of each Interns timetable will involve fortnightly meetings with the Edify Coordinator, intentionally touching base and assessing their progress and wellbeing, as well as providing place and space for relevant issues to be raised.

Streetlevel Mission Leadership & Pastoral Care Team
As a part of their course Interns will become an integral part of the Streetlevel community. This will involve working under the supervision and leadership of Streetlevel's leadership and pastoral care team who oversight the community centre and church. Interns will meet regularly with members of this team and can discuss any pastoral issues or concerns with them. Streetlevel Mission pastoral care team is made up of experienced men and women who care deeply about the wellbeing of Internship participants.

External Supervision
Another measure we put in place to ensure the safety and welfare of Edify Interns is to provide them with an external supervisor (meaning someone who IS NOT connected to the community or church in any way), who will meet with them once every 8 weeks (or more as needed). The purpose of this to provide Interns with someone with whom they can discuss any personal issues, concerns or challenges that for whatever reason they do not feel they can share directly with Edify / Streetlevel leadership. Additionally this person will provide them with an unbiased ear and wise counsel.

Other Edify Internship Participants
Each Intern is but one part of the whole Internship team whom will get to know each other intimately over the course of the year as they live, serve, worship, learn and grow together. Fellow interns will be a huge source of support and will mutually care for one another over the course of the year.
