Course Outline

Edify is currently recruiting for the 2012 Certificate IV in Youth Work Course! Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to be trained to work with at-risk young people with both professionalism and compassion.
Edify's Certificate IV in Youth Work (CHC41808) is a nationally recognised qualification that will make you employable within any youth specific service or organisation within Australia. Operating since 2010 this 9 month accredited training course provides an incredible opportunity for you to study and work within the context of one of Australia's premier youth services, The Salvation Army's Oasis Youth Support Network.
Featured in the 2008 AFI award winning documentary, The Oasis, the staff and team at Oasis offer homeless and disadvantaged young people hope, support and opportunities to access relevant education, training, employment, counselling, and drug/alcohol programs. Students will undertake their training and practice youth work in this unique environment. You will be enrolled through The Salvation Army's registered training organisation, Booth College (RTO:0328).
The course will offer a holistic training approach to youth work, from a Christian worldview, and will combine classroom teaching with 'real world' practical experience in a diverse range of contexts. Your teachers and trainers are highly qualified practitioners with a wealth of experience, including Oasis Hunter's Jodie Mills and Majors Paul and Robbin Moulds AM. Participants will be required to attend fortnightly classes as well as five weekend intensives and be able to complete all assessments over a period of nine months to meet the requirements of the certificate.
